1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Fate Compass, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the website or purchase any digital reading.

2. Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use Fate Compass. By using this website, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age. If you are under 18, you should use this service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

3. Entertainment and Self-Reflection Only

Fate Compass provides Chinese astrology content based on traditional symbolic systems such as BaZi and Zi Wei Dou Shu. Readings are for entertainment, cultural interest, journaling, and self-reflection only. They are not scientific, medical, psychological, legal, financial, investment, safety, or professional advice.

Do not use a reading as the basis for medical decisions, legal decisions, financial decisions, relationship safety decisions, employment decisions, or any other high-impact decision. Always consult a qualified professional for those matters.

4. AI-Generated Content

Some or all interpretations may be generated or assisted by artificial intelligence (AI). AI-generated content can contain mistakes, omissions, biases, or wording that does not fit your situation. You agree to treat readings as symbolic and informational rather than factual guarantees.

EU AI Act Notice: Readings are generated by an AI system for entertainment purposes only. The AI system is not classified as high-risk under the EU Artificial Intelligence Act. The content does not constitute a decision with legal or similarly significant effects. In accordance with the AI Act's transparency obligations, we clearly disclose that you are interacting with AI-generated content.

5. Digital Products

Paid readings are digital goods delivered online. A purchase may unlock one or more sections of a generated reading, such as a full BaZi reading, a full Zi Wei Dou Shu reading, or a bundle. Product names, prices, and included content may change over time, but the checkout page will show the applicable price before purchase.

Tax Notice: Prices displayed may not include applicable taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax). Depending on your location, taxes may be added at checkout as required by law. Fate Compass complies with applicable tax obligations in the jurisdictions where it operates.

6. Payments

Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers such as PayPal or Stripe. Fate Compass does not store full card numbers, bank account numbers, or payment credentials. Payment providers may apply their own terms, fees, verification requirements, fraud checks, and dispute procedures.

7. Refunds

Refund eligibility is described in our Refund Policy. Because readings are digital goods delivered immediately after purchase, refunds are generally limited to duplicate charges, technical failures, unauthorized transactions confirmed by the payment provider, or cases required by applicable law.

8. User Input

You are responsible for entering accurate birth information. Incorrect date, time, gender, or timezone input may produce an inaccurate chart or interpretation. If you do not know your birth time, the website may use a fallback time and the result should be treated as approximate.

9. Account-Free Access and Result URLs

Fate Compass may operate without user accounts. Results may be accessed through generated URLs or browser storage depending on the current product configuration. If caching is disabled or browser storage is cleared, a prior result may not be recoverable.

10. Prohibited Use

You may not use the website to violate laws, interfere with the service, scrape excessive data, reverse engineer protected systems, abuse payment flows, or misrepresent Fate Compass readings as professional advice.

11. No Guarantee of Availability

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, permanent result storage, or compatibility with every browser, device, payment provider, or region.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fate Compass is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from use of the website, readings, payment flows, or reliance on symbolic interpretations.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Fate Compass from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the service or violation of these terms.

14. Intellectual Property

The website design, code, logos, and original content are the intellectual property of Fate Compass. Generated reading content is provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit reading content without our written permission.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

For users in the European Union: These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which you reside. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of your place of residence, in accordance with EU consumer protection regulations including Regulation (EU) No 524/2013 on online dispute resolution (ODR). The European Commission's ODR platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

For users in the United States: These terms are governed by applicable federal law and the laws of the state in which you reside. Disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of your jurisdiction.

For users in Singapore: These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Disputes shall be resolved through the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) or the courts of Singapore.

For users in other jurisdictions: These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Fate Compass is organized. Nothing in these terms deprives you of protections afforded by mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence.
